I have lost the full stop on my keyboard so will use the forward slash instead /
Christchurch has been looking quite empty
over the christmas break / I saw a fair few people out running on Xmas morning - no doubt hoping to create a calorie debt to offset later mealtime excesses ! It doesn't work like that /
There is a photo quiz at the end of the article to give the brain cells a holiday workout
Several CHA members are up in the Nelson area / Cam Avery took time out to enter a 10 km race up there and clocked a handy 32, 04 time / Local papers billed it as a clash between Cameron and Phil Costley in a ' teacher -pupil ' scenario / Phil ran away from the field in 31min 30 , but in a year's time Cameron will be getting near that /

The club has finally gone ' Facebook ' .Robyn has set up a page and it will supplement or eventually supplant this blog . Robyn has some skills in people management and is also blessed with a very optimistic outlook on everything . Having a Facebook page is an open democratic way to do things , whereas blogs are somewhat cloistered things . Also, it's possible we could use F/ Book to do a lot of the club communication .
If you meet runners who may be interested in joining CHCH Avon , then tell them we're on Facebook /

" Follow the above link and find and 'LIKE' our new Facebook page. Feel free to post about training runs you are doing if you want company. We can use it as a way to communicate to each other, but also to communicate to the wider world.
If the link doesn't work, you should be able to plug " Christchurch Avon Athletic Club " into the Facebook search panel
Merry Christmas. Happy running."

A good turn out and a good representation of club singlets and Christmas attire. Special mention to Andrew R-J and his flashing light Santa cowboy hat and Stella (the dog) Seigne who was rigged out in full santa costume. Thanks to John G for hosting, for the good coffee and Christmas goodies " - (Robyn )

Rodger and Robyn are extending their drills sessions into a wider coaching idea -
Here is a photo of a 10 km race down in Central probably about the late 70 's
The smiling runner and the driver of the car are now veterans in their fifties- can you identify them ?
